Fundraising Focus: Summer Research Opportunity Program in Genomic Data Science

Help train next generation of genomic leaders

Giving

Your generous contribution supports our mission in driving innovative and impactful research advances and training future leaders in genomics. Gifts of any amount make a difference and can have a lasting impact. Funding priorities of the CGSI include:

  • Research Innovation:  Transformative research is often the riskiest to launch – and thus the most difficult to fund through traditional granting mechanisms.  Philanthropic partners can have a major impact by supporting research initiatives within CGSI.  Donors can contribute toward specific research topics, individual research labs, or our general fund that supports collaborative research aimed at tackling the biggest problems in medicine, agriculture, and basic discovery.
  • Training the Leaders of Tomorrow:  CGSI maintains a strong commitment to education, from undergraduate to postdoctoral training.  Gifts toward the CGSI training mission provide direct support for students and postdoctoral fellows, our training programs that provide exceptional training environments, and new initiatives in training as they arise.
  • Collaborative Genomics at UW-Madison:  Impactful science is often driven by interdisciplinary collaborations that span disciplines.  Contributions to our collaborative genomics priority provide seed funds for collaborative projects connecting CGSI with the broader community at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
